Sandi Moolman joins Applelec as business development manager

Applelec is pleased to have appointed Sandi Moolman for the newly created role of business development manager for the South of England.

Sandi's previous roles involved her working closely with architects and designers where her technical support was instrumental in ensuring projects completed successfully.

Sandi joins Applelec following a varied career which has seen her focus on architectural product specification for companies including ELVAL Colour, ThyssenKrupp, Sapa Profiler AB and Rimex Metals. As key account manager for ThyssenKrupp’s materials division, Sandi was responsible for metal and LED sales in ThyssenKrupp’s role as a distributor for SloanLED’s modules. Most recently as UK product manager for ELVAL, Sandi managed sales of metals for building cladding and roofing systems.

Sandi Moolman said: ‘After many years spent working for large multi-national organisations, I was keen to find a role within a smaller, more team orientated company which is looking to develop its international presence. My experience in working with architectural and design agencies will be put to good use in the specification of Applelec’s lighting products.’

Applelec managing director, Ian Drinkwater, said: ‘Sandi has already made a strong impression here at Applelec where her drive and enthusiasm is infectious. With an 18 year history working with companies at every stage of a project lifespan, Sandi will be able to support our clients from initial design stages through to the construction and fabrication aspects of each installation.’

The new position sees Sandi joining two other business development mangers for Applelec’s lighting division due to continued growth in the sales of the company’s LED Light Sheet and Aura Linear products throughout 2014. James Earle is responsible for activities in the North of England whilst Darrell Barrs supports clients in the midlands.
