Title: London Fashion Week 2012
Client: Bacchus

With discretion vital for branding within venues at London Fashion Week, dimmable three metre LED Light Sheet illuminated logos were designed to disappear from view as each catwalk show began.

‘LED Light Sheet enabled us to use branding in the Show Space in an effective, controllable and considered way.’

LED Light Sheet panels were used to create a pair of three metre illuminated London Fashion Week logos for the British Fashion Council Catwalk Show Space in the courtyard of Somerset House. The Show Space was designed by Charlotte Lurot of LFW production company Bacchus for the event which took place in February 2012.

On installation, LED Light Sheet was integrated into the venue’s lighting control system allowing for show control queuing and ensuring the branding could be dimmed to prevent interference with the lighting schemes of each show.

Spencer Sunar, of Blueprint Workshop Ltd / Bacchus and Technical Director of London Fashion Week, comments: ‘Part of the design intent for the Courtyard Show Space required the use of branding in an elegant and seamless way. Lighting is critical to the Show Space as well as choice of materials and finishes, so everything that goes into the space is carefully chosen to be a part of the overall design. LED Light Sheet enabled us to use branding in the Show Space in an effective, controllable and considered way. The feedback was very positive from guests, designers and client.’

To create the venue branding, folded aluminium panels were stencil cut with the LFW logo and sponsor details then painted to an RAL colour reference to match the venue’s walls. 5300k cool white LED Light Sheet units were secured behind each stencil cut panel to create the sleek and discrete illuminated branding required by the event designers.
