Developed by multi-chain retail group Kamal Osman Jamjoom, who manage the Body Shop, Neal’s Yard and Early Learning Centre brands across the Gulf States, Nayomi is a unique offering to women in the region.
As part of an extensive programme of development, three Nayomi flagship stores in large city malls have recently been launched to store designs by London’s Kinnersley Kent Design, with a fourth store in Yas Mall, UAE currently being fitted. Created around a Princess Palace theme, the stores feature a powder-pink colour scheme with ornate mirrors and decadent chandeliers. Treating women with sensitivity and respect, the Nayomi brand celebrates femininity and this is reflected in store décor which is both pretty and romantic.
New stores created with the Princess Palace theme include the Mall of Arabia in Jeddah, Nakheel Mall in Riyadh and the Mall of Dhahran which covers 350 square metres of retail space. The flagship stores have each been designed with large pink-lit entranceways and window displays along with illuminated feature bays inside the store that are all lit with Applelec’s LED Light Sheet behind decorative pink panels. Applelec’s Aura Linear LED profiles were used to illuminate coving areas with 4100K LEDs used in both the LED Light Sheet panels and LED profiles behind a pink filter to achieve colour consistency.
Ian Hitchings of KOJ said: ‘Malls are enormously competitive retail environments and we were looking to create a highly enticing entrance for the new Nayomi Princess Palace flagships. The LED Light Sheet panels enabled us to create the impactful pink-lit entrance and window displays that really deliver a sense of expectation as customers enter the store spaces.’
